O-Ren brewhouse and modern Asian restaurant

Warm your soul along with your tastebuds at O-Ren brewhouse

and modern Asian restaurant, address: 5/30 Hastings Street, Noosa

Heads, with its fusion of funky cocktails, Copperhead Brewery

craft beers on tap, and modern Asian, share-style cuisine.

With their gorgeous Asian-inspired décor and nightly specials

like Beef wontons with a hot and sour broth, pickled mushrooms,

wakame seaweed and bok choy; and Noosa blue swimmer crab

yellow curry, cooked on the boat locally and hand-picked fresh

by Chef – you’ll be warming up in no time. Open Wednesday -

Friday from 5pm till late, and on weekends from noon till late.

RAINY DAY ADVENTURES


A great rainy day adventure for everyone (and when it’s not

raining) is The Ginger Factory – it’s much more than just ginger,

although the ginger is amazing too! Kids can decorate their own

gingerbread man - then eat it, there’s the Overboard boat ride,

Moreton train ride, a ginger factory tour, live bee show where

you’ll learn all about the day in the life of a bee, delicious meals

and snacks at the Ginger Café, ice cream, beautiful subtropical

gardens to wander through, and great shopping!

Open every day from 9am till 5pm, free admission but some

Golf, antiques, art and more in Cooroy, Noosa hinterland

Take a Noosa Country Drive to the hinterland town of

Cooroy, about 20 minutes from Noosa Heads for a day of

shopping, art and antiques, views, golf and more.

The pretty greens of Cooroy Golf Club in Myall St welcome

visitors for a round of social golf (also to play in member

competitions for players with an official Golf Australia

handicap) – bookings are essential on 5447 6258. The

easy-walking, 18-hole course is challenging but enjoyable

for golfers of all levels. Golf equipment and electric golf

carts are available for hire and the clubhouse is open for a

drink with the locals after the game.

The historic Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre, 11a Maple

St, has three exhibitions: A Day in a Life, hyper-realistic

works of Lew Brennan; Echoed Rhythms, 3D art from Greg

Kinman, Paula Bowie and Melissa McCullagh; and

'Physical Video - On Tour, a selection of video art from

QAGOMA, open 10am to 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Also

see the eclectic mix of creative work in the artisan store

and wander around the grounds of the historic Cooroy Mill

Place Precinct.

Find a vintage or antique treasure at The Shed @ Cooroy,

15 Diamond St, with interesting second hand, collectables,

decorator items and retro wares - there's coffee and cakes

in their cafe and you can even bring your dog to their

garden! Cafe open until 1.30pm, shop until 2pm.

McDonald Glass Art Studio in nearby Black Mountain - call

Book a table for lunch or dinner at Saw and Mill, 5 Opal St,

open Tuesday to Saturday, noon to 9pm (ph 5472 0907);

or at Cooroy RSL, 25 Maple St, open every day for all-day

dining (book on 5447 6131); or for something unique, try

Copperhead Restaurant Brewery, open daily for lunch and

dinner at 52 Kauri St, and their ever-changing, small

batch, seasonal beers (book on 5442 6975).
