    The Week Before Christmas

Come and stay between the 15/12/06 and 22/12/06 for 7 nights and pay for only 5 - what better way to lead into the frenzy of the "Silly Season".

Please note that these specials are subject to availability and are not offered in conjunction with any other offer.

    Things To Do

Here's a quick selection of local attractions within easy reach that we recommend:

    • The Mary Valley Rattler - do yourself a favour and just do it! The kids will love it and mum and dad will have the opportunity to just sit back, relax and enjoy the 40km historic journey. Catch it at Old Railway Station, Tozer St, Gympie. Bookings are strongly recommended and can be made by phoning 07 5482 2750. Website: www.thevalleyrattler.com/
    • Australia Zoo - Beerwah home of the world famous and much missed Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin. Website: www.crocodilehunter.com
    • Nothing! - Why not just come to us for a weekend for a complete rest and relaxation respite. Bring the kids and only do the beach and the pool. Remember it's self catering, so if you plan well, you won't even have to use the car until it's time to return home!

    Sue Recommends...

    Last chance for Whale Watching

Whale Planet and Volante Cruises are offering these tours out of Mooloolaba so you don't have to take the long drive up to Hervey Bay. Guests feedback has been great - don't leave it until next year!

    What's Been Happening

    Farewell Steve Irwin

I know that all of the tributes have gone before us and the legacy will live on but we here at Glen Eden would like to say "thanks Steve" for providing the Sunshine Coast with such a great attraction that have guests talking for days. "Crikey Mate" you are sadly missed!

    Newsflash!

It's happened. The new Noosa Civic Shopping Centre has opened offering a wide choice of specialty shops and eateries. Located conveniently at the intersection of Eenie Creek Road and Walter Hay Drive at Noosaville, it's easy to find, and an alternative for the Sunshine Coast district.

Peregian Beach Plastic Bag Free Zone

An initiative of the Peregian Beach Business Association is to make Peregian Beach a plastic bag free zone. We all know the menace that plastic bags are as rubbish and particularly in this area with our sea life.

We at Glen Eden are in support of this and as an endorsement are providing our guests with the new Peregian Beach shopping bag. It is only a small step in the giant leap we need to take to educate everyone on this very important environmental issue. But it is a start! Hopefully, there will be a bag left for you.

    For Sale

    2 units currently for sale:

    • 1 x 3 bedder on the beach front listed at $525,000
    • 1 x 2 bedder overlooking the pool and listed at $390,000

1 x 2 bedder on the beachfront currently under contract. If you are interested in purchasing a piece of paradise here at Glen Eden - give me a call and I will be happy to pass on the relevant information to make your decision to purchase, an easy one!

    What's On?

Noosa Triathlon Multi Sports Festival 2006
    25 - 29 October 2006

If you like festivals and sport, just 15 minutes away from Glen Eden Resort, Noosa is a "Mecca" for the serious triathlete, the weekend warrior, cycling's coffee shop crowd, those incredibly lean endorphin addicted road runners, corporate crusaders on team bonding expeditions and outright battlers racing against the demons within to experience the euphoria of Noosa's finishing straight.

Now in its 24th year, Noosa Triathlon Multi Sports Festival attracts 8,000 competitors and 30,000 spectators including the world's best swimmers, runners, triathletes, cyclists, volleyballers, surf ironmen and women, the cream of Australian footballers, celebrities and thousands of age group triathletes and supporters from Australia and all corners of the earth.

For more info, visit the organiser's website: www.usmevents.com.au

Theatre: Noël Coward's Hay Fever, Noosaville 20-28 October and Maleny, 2-3 November

On the other hand, if you like your culture, the Sunshine Coast offers a range of amateur and theatrical productions.

This month, for example, director Simon Denver presents one of Noël Coward's funniest plays, Hay Fever.

It is through his unique use of words that this play transcends farce and becomes one of an even more elite club – a Comedy of Manners. Coward not only reflected his times, he helped create and define his times and Hay Fever is tribute to this bygone age of the Edwardians.
