  • News and Events

Plans have been drawn and quotes have been submitted for the office upgrade which we expect to do some time in November 2005. How pleasant it will be for you to come back and be welcomed in a fresh, modern environment!

We are in the process of developing a partnership programme with Noosa Council that will remove unwanted trees and weeds from the foreshore dunes. These will be progressively replaced with indigenous plants to return the area to a more natural state.

Two more refurbishments have occured over the last couple of months and several more airconditioners and dishwashers have been installed. We, along with the owners of the units, are listening to our guests comments and appreciate the feedback after each stay.

    Peregian News

Noosa Council has initiated the development of a Retail Strategy for the Peregian Village. This will generate a marketing campaign to inform our target market more about the village and what it has to offer. We think that the secret has been held for too long and it is time to share a piece of paradise with others.

To make it more appealing, Noosa Council are in the process of spending the first half of a $2 mill allocation to upgrade the village over the next 2 years. More carparks are already underway, infrastructure and streetscaping are all planned. We are all pleased that Council are devoted to Peregian and very mindful of its unique village atmosphere that still needs to be retained. We can't stand still!

    Eateries Sue Recommends

Sue recommends that when you visit our beautiful piece of paradise in Peregian that you always take advantage of our popular and local eateries.

Always a favourite is the Peregian Beach Surf Life Saving Club where Vicki and her staff from Seashells will always greet you with a smile and serve you fresh and tasty meals. I know from personal experience that they will cook you a meal full of love! If you like prawns with a little taste of chilli, don't be afraid to ask for "Sue's Prawns" and let me know what you think.

Of course there is the ever popular Ming Garden Chinese Restaurant known to most of the locals as "Sammy's" where again, you will have the experience of dining and knowing the food is consistantly good and well priced.

QOM is the newcomer to Peregian and takes you to a far off place - Persia! This food is a real experience. The owners and staff will delight in helping you to order from the extensive and interesting menu. Let your taste buds go wild and indulge in this unique dining experience. There have been guests who have stayed at Glen Eden and have gone to QOM 3 and 4 times in a week! Don't you miss out.

We also have the Peregian Beach Hotel and the Bowls Club and even the fish shop, that will tempt your taste buds. Something for everyone to indulge in and enjoy.

For that special lunch in the village, under the trees, give Baked Poetry a try. A special little spot and always well patronised. Robert bakes his own breads and the combination of a great menu and fresh ingredients, make this a don't miss opportunity.

A Day Out in the Hinterland

Of course there is more to do in the local area than just the beautiful beaches.

Sue reommends that you take a drive out through Eumundi and visit the markets if it is a Wednesday or Saturday, then out to Kenilworth to visit the cheese factory and walk through the main street, pop into a gallery or just admire the old streetscape.

Have a cuppa at Nanna McGinns before heading out along the Obi Obi Road and up to Mapleton where you will enjoy a great view looking back over the expansive coastline. Head toward Montville, but make sure you stop off in Flaxton and have a look at the model railway before you end up in the ever popular Montville. Walk the main street looking through enchanting galleries and shops and of course take some time to stop and eat at one of the many restaurants or coffee shops.

Once you have spent your money here, it will be time to take the drive home through the Glass House Mountains, up to Mooloolabah, see the Loo with a View and head home to Glen Eden to enjoy a relaxing sauna and spa.
